ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) resumed hearing of the National
Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) implementation case where the government
presented the draft of the letter to be sent to Swiss authorities before
the apex court Tuesday, Geo News reported. A five-member bench comprising Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Athar Saeed resumed hearing the NRO case against Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf. During today’s proceedings, Law Minister Farooq H Naek presented the draft of the letter before the court. He also presented the letter delegating the authority to him to write the letter by the prime minister. The bench raised objections on the content of the draft. Justice Asif Khosa pointed out the difference between the reference numbers of the letter written by former Attorney General Malik Qayyum and the draft of the letter prepared by the government. He remarked that the draft should state the complete reference number. |
