4 Mistakes Behind Our Doom in T20

Many have bemoaned the fact that Pakistan lost the Semi-Final. I have heard a lot of experts angry and upset over the loss, and have sat among hundreds of fans watching the matches in a cinema utterly broken after the loss. To be honest, I am utterly baffled at these reactions. We should be happy that this Pakistan team reached the Semi-Final, they certainly did not deserve it. Now before you start thinking that I am saying this just because we lost, read my arguments and then decide for yourself whether reaching the semi-final
was an achievement or not.

Pakistan made mistakes some minor, which every team is bound to make at one time or another, some cardinal mistakes, equal to shooting themselves in the foot all on their own.

COLOMBO: Umar Gul turned an unlikely hero with the bat as Pakistan survived a middle-order collapse to beat South Africa by two wickets in the Super Eights of the World Twenty20 on Friday.
Pakistan, chasing South Africa's modest 133-6, crashed to 76-7 in the 15th over before Gul and Umar Akmal combined to share a match-winning partnership of 49 in 27 balls.
Gul smashed two fours and three sixes in his 32 off 17 balls before he was dismissed off the last ball of the 19th over by fast bowler Dale Steyn with nine more needed.
But Akmal, who remained unbeaten on 43, and Saeed Ajmal steered Pakistan home with two balls to spare, Ajmal edging the winning boundary off Morne Morkel.
Pakistan's openers raced to 24 in 2.5 overs before the innings fell apart after Imran Nazir (14) was caught behind off Steyn.
Left-arm spinner Robin Peterson, who came to bowl the fourth over, removed skipper Mohammad Hafeez with his second delivery and Nasir Jamshed with the six to make Pakistan 31-3.

World T20 cricket: England win warm-up versus Pakistan

Defending champions England beat Pakistan by 15 runs in their final World Twenty20 warm-up game in Colombo.

On a stodgy pitch, England made 111 all out from 19.3 overs, Luke Wright top-scoring with 38 from 36 balls and spinner Saeed Ajmal taking 4-14.
But Pakistan could only make 96-9 in reply, left-arm spinner Danny Briggs taking 3-15 and Jade Dernbach 3-14.

Sri Lanka out for fast start at World T20

HAMBANTOTA, Sri Lanka: Hosts Sri Lanka will expect to make a brisk start to the World Twenty20 Tuesday as they open the country's biggest tournament since independence with high hopes of claiming a second global title.
In Hambantota, the home town of President Mahinda Rajapakse, Sri Lanka should encounter few problems against minnows Zimbabwe as they raise the curtain on Twenty20 cricket's three-week, 12-nation, world championship.
Sri Lanka have yet to emulate their 50-over World Cup victory in 1996, despite reaching the final again last year. They were World Twenty20 runners-up in 2009 and went out in the semi-finals in 2010.
