No potable water for flood victimsEpidemics have gripped different areas of Balochistan due to consuming of polluted drinking water as the flashfloods and rains adversely affected water supply lines and the people are forced to use rain water.
According to details, flashfloods caused due to recent rains have destroyed the water supply lines in various districts of Balochistan including Jafferabad and Naseerabad.
Hundreds of flood affected families having taken shelter along National Highway and other areas lying at high altitude where they have to face various problems including food, clean drinking water and medical aid.
The affected people were forced to consume unhygienic food and polluted water due to which hundreds of people including women and children were suffering epidemics like diahoria.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Education Department has closed all the government schools in flood affected areas including Jafferabad, Naseerabad, Jhal Magsi, Kacchi and Sibi for indefinite period.
On the other hand in Khairpur flooded streams and rain water nullahs coming from mountainous areas of Pir Koko and Shadi Shaheed have inundated 500 villages and people have been forced to live under open sky without basic facilities.
In Dera Ghazi Khan and tehsil Rojhan of Rajanpur 70 percent of the residential areas are still under several feet of stagnated water.
